Havenlee School implements the NSW Board of Studies syllabus from
Kindergarten to Year 12. All Key Learning Areas are taught: English,
Mathematics, Science and Technology, Personal Development/ Health/
Physical Education, Creative Arts, Languages other than English,
Human Society and its Environment.
Learning adjustments
and accommodations are developed and implemented to ensure that
students are provided with challenging and stimulating opportunities
that meet their learning needs and also the requirements of the NSW
Board of Studies.
Individual planning
meetings are held with parents twice a year. At these meetings,
parents and teachers have the chance to discuss the priorities for
each student. The class teacher then develops a program around those
priorities and incorporates this program into class and whole school
programs.
Havenlee School is
part of the Shoalhaven River Learning Community which enhances the
opportunities available to our students from integration programs,
work placement and community service programs. This Learning
Community also facilitates the sharing of expertise between the
teaching staff of different schools so that the best outcomes for
individual students can be achieved.
